Of the nine sites listed as World Heritage in Castile and León, this is the only one situated in five different autonomous communities:

7. Archaeological Site of Atapuerca (2000)

The Archaeological Site of Atapuerca was inscribed on the World Heritage List in 2000, the thirteenth year in which the country had nominations approved. Of the nine sites listed as World Heritage in Castile and León, this is the only one situated in the Alfoz de Burgos comarca, in the Burgos province.

8. Prehistoric Rock Art Sites in the Siega Verde (2010)

The Prehistoric Rock Art Sites in the Siega Verde were inscribed on the World Heritage List in 2010, the twentieth year in which the country had nominations approved. Of the nine sites listed as World Heritage in Castile and León, this is the only one situated in the Ciudad Rodrigo comarca, in the Salamanca province.

The Ancient and Primeval Beech Forests of the Carpathians and Other Regions of Europe were inscribed on the World Heritage List in 2017, the twenty-fourth year in which the country had nominations approved.
