Brief History of La Cantina Restaurant
As I mentioned in the introduction, La Cantina restaurant opened to the public on April 12th, 1992, the same day as the Euro Disney Resort (the original designation of Disneyland Paris). At that time, Disney Hotel Santa Fe was called Disney’s Hotel Santa Fe – a name it maintained until July 26th, 2022.
The Disney Hotel Santa Fe is, since 2011, known as the “Cars” hotel, the famous Disney-Pixar film franchise. The hotel’s retheming coincided with the release of the sequel “Cars 2”, even though most of the details invoke the original “Cars” movie from 2006.
How To Eat At La Cantina Restaurant
La Cantina restaurant is open every day from 6 pm to 10:30 pm, with the last entry at 10:15 pm. And although you don’t need to be staying at the Disney Hotel Santa Fe to be able to dine at La Cantina, a stay at this hotel doesn’t guarantee you a table without a reservation at the buffet!
In fact, I advise you to book a table in advance – something you can do up to 2 months (or 12 months, if you have a stay booked at a Disney hotel) before your arrival date! To do this, all you have to do is download the Disneyland Paris app, available on Google Play and the App Store. Then create an account and start choosing your favorite restaurants with table reservations!
Alternatively, you can call the Disneyland Paris Restaurant Reservation Center at +33 1 60 30 40 50. But don’t forget that local call rates apply and may vary depending on your telecom operator.

What To Eat At La Cantina Restaurant
If you search for La Cantina on the Disneyland Paris website or app, you’ll notice that this all-you-can-eat buffet is promoted as a Tex-Mex, Vegetarian, and Vegan restaurant.
In my opinion, La Cantina restaurant offers a reasonable number of Tex-Mex and vegetarian dishes. However, I only found three vegan dishes: a starter, a main course, and a dessert.

Do you follow a specific diet or do you have special dietary needs? La Cantina restaurant serves sealed and certified halal and kosher dishes, as well as dishes and menus without the main allergens.

At first glance, La Cantina restaurant doesn’t seem to have much to offer as far as starters are concerned. Nevertheless, if you add bread, cheeses, and salads to this section of the buffet, the number increases significantly!
These are the starters you can try at La Cantina restaurant:

Bread & Cheeses
Did you know that in France cheese is served after the main course and before dessert? This happens because the French consider cheese to be very high in calories, which can spoil your appetite for the main course!
However, in countries like Portugal, Spain, or Italy, cheese is seen as the perfect starter to stimulate the palate before the main course. For that reason, it’s common to find cheese boards – and charcuterie, on certain occasions – which are almost always accompanied by bread or toast.
These are the bread and cheeses you can try at La Cantina restaurant:
- Brie de Meaux Cheese
- Cheeses from “The Three Castilian Milks” (cow, sheep, and goat)

If you thought that La Cantina restaurant had little variety of salads due to its Tex-Mex theme, then think again! Every day, there are over fifteen salads or similar selections – including vegetarian and vegan alternatives!
These are the salads (and similar ones) you can try at La Cantina restaurant:
- Bulgur, Quinoa with Tofu, and Cactus Salad
- Coleslaw, Pineapple, and Coriander Salad
- Exotic Salad (Shrimp, Surimi, and Mango)

- Mexican Rice and Tuna Salad
