The Cernuschi Museum (in French, Musée Cernuschi), officially the Museum of Asian Arts of the City of Paris (in French, Musée des Arts de l’Asie de la Ville de Paris) is an art museum located in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, in the former residence of Henri Cernuschi! The Cernuschi Museum is considered one of the most important museums in France when it comes to the art and culture of China, Japan, South Korea, and Vietnam, with a collection spanning almost five millennia – from prehistory to the present day!

The Gustave Moreau Museum is an art museum located in the 9th arrondissement of Paris and housed in the former home and studio of the French painter Gustave Moreau! The ground floor of the Gustave Moreau Museum displays works from different periods of his career, while the first floor corresponds to the apartment where the artist lived with his parents. The second and third floors of the building are his studio, where you can admire his most renowned works!

The Museum of Romantic Life is a museum in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, an area of great cultural interest. In fact, the museum itself is housed in the Hôtel Scheffer-Renan, the former residence of the painter Ary Scheffer! The ground floor of the building is dedicated to George Sand, with paintings, sculptures, furniture, and jewelry from her private collection. On the other hand, the first floor displays works by Ary Scheffer and his contemporaries, and evokes the memory of Ernest Renan!

The Marmottan Monet Museum (in French, Musée Marmottan Monet) is an art museum located in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, one of the noble areas of the French capital. Known for hosting the world’s largest public collection of paintings by Claude Monet, the Marmottan Monet Museum has more than three hundred works of art by the painter – including the famous painting “Impression, soleil levant”, which gave its name to the Impressionist movement!

The Centre Pompidou opened in 1977 but was conceived in the late 1960s by President Georges Pompidou, who had the goal of creating an arts center in the heart of Paris. And today, the Centre Pompidou is home to the largest collection of modern and contemporary art in Europe! In addition to the several dozen exhibitions, the Centre Pompidou offers a wide cultural program, with music, theater, and dance shows, cinema cycles, conferences, and even activities for the youngest!

The Orangerie Museum started out as a greenhouse for orange trees but now houses an extraordinary collection of impressionist and post-impressionist paintings, including some of Claude Monet‘s masterpieces. Although it’s smaller than other museums in the French capital and less crowded than its neighbors, the Louvre Museum or the Orsay Museum, its location in the Tuileries Garden is ideal. Not to mention that enjoying the “Water Lillies” without a noisy crowd is a plus!
